Nací un 7 de octubre en la ciudad de México, en el seno de una familia de artistas que influyó en mi vocación e interés por las artes plásticas.

Mi formación académica en artes plásticas inició en la Universidad Iberoamericana donde estudié Historia del Arte, di mis primeros pasos en el mundo de la fotografía con temas de arquitectura y retrato.

Estudié en la Escuela Activa de Fotografía de Coyoacán y Escuela Kodak México. Años más tarde tuve la oportunidad de vivir en Puerto Rico y estudiar en la Escuela de Artes Plásticas del viejo San Juan donde fui descubriendo el gusto por los contrastes de luz dramática, dura y suave.

El maestro John Betancourt, fotógrafo y artista puertoriqueño fue guía en la búsqueda de mi lenguaje visual, incursioné con los autoretratos posteriormente en lo abstracto basado en la poética pictórica.

Mis referentes e inspiración es el movimiento impresionista europeo y cubismo, reinterpretado en la fotográfica logrando imágenes oníricas surrealistas.

De regreso a México, empecé a trabajar con reflejos y sombras. Ana Bonilla Rius fue mi precursora en la búsqueda del lenguaje a través de la psique.

Desde el punto de vista técnico no deformo las imágenes con programas, manejo la magia con los filtros naturales.

Mi trabajo es digital y uso la cámara de manera análoga,  imprimo en papel algodón y cada fotografía esta enumerada como los grabados en metal que hacía mi madre Paloma Altolaguirre Mendez.

I was born on October 7th in Mexico City, in a family of artists that influenced my vocation and interest in the plastic arts.

My academic training in plastic arts began at the Universidad Iberoamericana, where I studied Art History and took my first steps in the world of photography with themes of architecture and portraiture.

I studied at the Active Photography School of Coyoacán and Kodak Mexico School. Years later I had the opportunity to live in Puerto Rico and study at the School of Plastic Arts of Old San Juan where I discovered the taste for the contrasts of dramatic, hard and soft light.

My professor John Betancourt, puertorican photographer and artist, was a guide in the search for my visual language.

I previously incursion with self-portraits based on abstract picture poetry.

My references and inspiration are based on the european impressionist movement and cubism, reinterpreted on an image achieving surrealist dream images.

Back in Mexico, I started working with reflections and shadows. Ana Bonilla Rius was my precursor in the search for language through the psyche.

From the technical point of view, I do not deform the images with software, but I manage the magic with natural filters.

My work is digital and I use the camera in an analogous way, I print on cotton paper and each photograph is listed, just like the metal engravings made by my mother Paloma Altolaguirre Mendez.
